Art Camp: These art camps are set up for kids of all ages. Each week the kids will be making something with clay and glazing it. There will be other unique projects each week, for example: tunnel book dioramas, dancing puppets (based on folk art wooden toys that dance on a board), assemblage sculptures (making your own creature with a wide variety of materials – colored masking tape, colored paper, fabric, feathers, pipe cleaners, wire, little branches, and other little odds and ends). And there will be drawings and paintings – from life, and from the imagination, involving new techniques and new ways of putting together a picture. All this goes on in a large barn studio and a big yard full of gardens and young chickens, ducklings, and two friendly but rambunctious dogs.
Advanced Art Camp: This is for those who are interested in working solely in drawing and painting. There will be opportunities to work with various drawing and painting materials, for example, pen and ink, ink washes, charcoal, pastels, watercolor, gouache, tempera, and acrylic. Each kid will be able to work at their own pace, trying out the different materials and making several drawings and paintings, and then, if they wish, they can decide to delve into an individualized project using the materials they like the best.
